Wis the difference in elevation between the top of Mt. Everest (23,035 ft) and the bottom of the Puerto Rican Trench (-28,232 ft)?
- lenpol7Lv 73 months ago
23,035 - - 28,232 =
23035 + 28232 = 51,267 ft.

Mt Everest is 29,029 feet above sea level and the Puerto Rico Trench is 27,480 feet below sea level.
Therefore the difference is 29,029 feet plus 27,480 feet which is 56,509 feet.

You should reprimand your maths teacher for not giving you the skills to be able to answer that question. And you should reprimand your geography teacher for giving you the wrong height for Mt Everest. It is 29,029 feet according to recent surveys.

What's wrong?? Can't you add two numbers??
5 + 2 = 7 ---- 3 +3 = 6 ---- 0 +2 = 2 ----- 8 + 3 = 11 (Carry 1) 2+2 = 4 + the Carry = 5

According to Wikipedia, Mt. Everest is 29,029 feet above MSL while the Puerto Rican Trench is 27,480 feet below MSL. The difference in height between the two is 56,509 feet or 10.7025 miles. The primary difference between the two is that people have stood on top of Mt. Everest, but no one has stood at the bottom of the Puerto Rican Trench.
BTW, the Challenger Deep is between 35,755 and 38,853 feet deep.

That is NOT Mt. Everest's peak elevation. Your facts are uncoordinated.
I did NOT use a calculator. I did that in my head.Source(s): B.S. geology AND B.S. physical geography, M.S. geology

You're WAY off the height of Mt. Everest; I wouldn't be surprised if you were wrong about the PR trench, either.

23, 035 + 28,232 = ?
