is a living will a will or just for medical?

    A living will applies to medical decisions. I suppose it could extend to other situations in which the individual becomes incapacitated...but usually, that would be handled separately with a Power of Attorney anyway.

    A living will applies only while you are still alive and has nothing to do with anyone inheriting anything.
