To the people saying add less salt, that's fine but the asker might have already made soup that's too salty and wants to remedy the issue after the fact.

Add a diced raw potato, dilute it with water, or for the appearance of less saltiness, you could add a teaspoon of sugar.

Don't add any salt to the soup until the end. I normally salt ingredients ahead of time, but chicken broth can be very salty on its own.

    Virtually impossible.

Adding a whole potato to absorb salt is an "old wives tale" and will do little to help the salt ratio.

About all you can do is remove some of the broth, add liquid to make up for what you removed. Save the liquid you removed, freeze that for the next time you make soup or stew but mark it so that you know not to add any salt.

Most of the meat and vegetables will not have absorb that much salt but the unsalted liquid you added will balance out the salinity.

Add a peeled chunked potato and it will absorb the additional salt. It can be eaten or tossed before serving. Sometimes adding additional water helps if it’s a flavorful stock that won’t lose its taste if diluted.
