Start with a large dog kennel and put a solid top over the top for shade and to prevent the cat from getting out. You can attach it to the house or have a cat flap and a small fenced portion that leads to the cat enclosure. Be sure to put in a few cat trees in there for the cat to climb and sit on. Also you may need to treat the grass area with a pet safe product to kill fleas and ticks.

I saw a tutorial online for making one out of an IKEA bookshelf, but it only works if the window is on the ground floor. Definitely figure out a way to build one though; our cats LOVE theirs, they’re out there all the time.

You can get them on amazon. Here is one for $280 that is about the dimensions you are looking for.

Chicken wire and light lumber like 2x2 or 1x4. It's hard to say much else without knowing how big it is and where it's going.

We plan to put it on one side of the house with access from a window. It'll be about 6' tall and 5' wide, 2-3' deep.
