How long does it take a body to decompose?

Assuming a standard modern burial, would they still be recognizable after 20/25 years?

What does this have to do with entertaining?

Anyway, all the soft tissues will rot fairly quickly - this starts at the moment of death and is definitely already under way by the time of the funeral. The blood goes first and embalming is fairly common if there's going to be a delay so the body doesn't smell at the funeral. What this does is drain the blood out and replace it with a formalin solution, a preserving fluid. It works for long enough until you can get the body buried.

The coffin rots too and after 20 years there will be nothing but the skeleton.
