    They are not the same.

Johann Strauss' "The Blue Danube" is a waltz.

“Libiamo, ne’ lieti calici” from Verdi's "La Traviata" is a drinking song sung by the characters of Violetta and Alfredo.

Source(s): I've attended several performances of "The Blue Danube" and "La Traviata"

They are completely different with ONE exception - they are both waltzes.

Go listen to this area from La Traviata - and notice who composed it. Duh. Happy that you blocked me??
