In the actual history. She was only 14 or 15 when she married John. John was around 35 - 45 years old when they married. The marriage also wasn't about love. It was conducted by her father, the chief of the tribe, to form either a peace treat, an alliance, or both with the colonists/British. It was for political reasons. After they married they went to london and lived there. From that she became a form of exhibit for the higher society of England.

The true story is quite different from legends and legend-based movies.

For one thing: when Johnny-boy was interacting with her she was still a child (at least: from the British perspective she was, way too young to marry).

There is no documented evidence of Pocahontas having a romantic relationship with John Smith.
