How Jehovah’s Witnesses Promote Strong Families

We do our best to follow the Bible’s counsel, since this helps us become better husbands, wives, and parents. The wisdom found in the Bible helps even mixed-belief families to succeed. In our ministry, we show our neighbors how applying wisdom found in the Bible can help them to

    Select a marriage mate

    Deal with in-laws

    Manage money

    Stop arguing

    Learn how to forgive

    Train children

However, the Witnesses do not encourage their members to separate from a marriage mate who is not a Witness. The Bible says: “If any brother has an unbelieving wife and she is agreeable to staying with him, let him not leave her; and if a woman has an unbelieving husband and he is agreeable to staying with her, let her not leave her husband.” Jehovah’s Witnesses abide by this command.

If a plant hits your head does a tree there grow?

If water came up from the grown would you claim to hoe?

If life was in your veins would have sense to crow?

If you had not understood would you claim to know?

For tis truth that you have as foe

Let's first correct your question: Jehovah's Witnesses and Christians. These are two separate groups. A Christian should never abandon his family. His family may abandon him, but God still has a way of working through the believer to reach his family. Ex: I was born again at the age of 17, always loved and prayed for my family members. 25 years later, I had the opportunity to lead my dad to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. It's because I shined the light of Christ through my life that he was finally able to see that he wanted the same thing.

JWs, on the other hand, have been known to walk away from their families through disassociation. They've been taught that way. Now, it's far more important to follow Christ than it is to follow our families. But why shouldn't we be there for them pointing the way to the cross?

Yes, family members have been known to no longer have anything to do with believing siblings, children, or parents. But that's not God's plan.

isn't it interesting that Jesus also had unsaved family members? Here he was, the promised Messiah, yet his own brothers at first rejected him. See John chapter 7. Yet after the crucifixion and the resurrection, what do we see? We see James the brother of Jesus who became the leader of the Jerusalem church. We see Jude the brother of Jesus write a glorious epistle.

So, when a family member rejects a believer, he's actually rejecting Jesus Christ. But it doesn't need to be permanent. They, too, can be transformed into a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Never give up on them.

    JWs are not Christians.

If Jesus was real, he'd hate that cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christians. Jesus didn't shun, JWs do. Jesus healed, JWs allow their children to die without life-saving medical treatment. This is Satan's religion

    JW are not Christians

Matthew 10 34 “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 For I have come to ‘set[j] a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law’; 36 and ‘a man’s enemies will be those of his own household.’ 37 He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. 39 He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.
