If God transforms believers into new creatures, why are molestation rates among clergy identical to those in the world, and not less?

Because clearly no god is doing a thing to change them.

like the old adage, "power tends to corrupt and absolute power tends to corrupt absolutely."

"God transforms believers into new creatures"? What passage do you have in mind that says this?

Also, it appears you may have been duped into thinking that anyone who calls themselves a "Christian" is in fact one (Mt 7:21-23). The entire chapter of Mt 25 is about "Christians" who thought they were saved, but in fact were not. Only God truly knows who are his. If it was somehow possible to determine such a rate among true Christians, my guess is the number would be very, very low. True Christians do sin, so I'm not saying that such would never happen among them, but they definitely do NOT willfully sin (Heb 10:26-27).

Partially because clergymen are human. And partially because homosexuals have invaded the clergy of many churches. Have you noticed that 90% of the victims have been adolescent/pre-adolescent boys?
