Fear of a recession causes a recession. People fear for their investments and pull back which kills the funding that drives growth. Perfect?

...timing for the party opposing the sitting president.

Would dems be fanning these flames were a Democrat in the White House?

[Lemme help y'out: No. They wouldn't. Period.]

The stock market is reacting to the signs of a recession. It is not causing one.

Trump is precipitating a recession with his trade war with China. It is adversely affecting the entire world economy, which was beginning to slow down anyway.

Note also that Trump has been pushing for a Fed rate cut, which is something that is not done in a strong economy. Before the recent Fed rate cut, the last one was in 2008 when the economy crashed. Trump and the Fed are trying to stave off a recession.

Manufacturing has been slowing. US economic growth is below 2%. Also note that Germany is already in negative growth territory.

Trump's trade war with China is exacerbating an already shaky situation.

Lemme help y'out- it would be the cons fanning the flames. Lookie what they did under O'bammy- DOW nearly tripled in value, yet they cried like snowflakes about how bad the economy was doing the whole time.

The economy recovered on its own just as now, after 2 years of white-hot growth, it's self-correcting. Presidents and congress have very little power to impact the economy.

Wages and benefits are too small as a percentage of the economy to expect much else.

Right now there's actually mild deflation. it's print money and spend time- creation of new wealth time.

Why not print the money to build a new green infrastructure? the value will last.

Neither party wants to ease a recession.

LMFAO So you are going to blame Trump's horrible trade policies on Democrats. You people are precious.

Old news. Every party always downplays the economy when the other party is in power. This is about like discovering that rain mainly falls from dark clouds and then acting like you're insightful for figuring that out.
