If climate change were to destroy everything would astronauts in space be safe?
Yes they would but only for a short period of time.....then they would be on a crash diet.(rimshot please!)

They would have to be completely independent of Earth. However, the fact is the Earth will not suddenly become uninhabitable in an instant. Global climate change is happening now so we can see its negative effects. Astronauts going into space can only anticipate it will be a little worse when they return. They will not suddenly come back and find Man extinct.

If they were completely independent of Earth - they should be okay... if they're counting on Earth for supplies, then... they'll eventually run out, and that would be that.

Not right now, because they depend on supplies from Earth. It's possible to construct a self-sufficient space habitat but there are no plans to do so.

The ISS is not self sustaining, there are some consumables that must be replenished periodically.
Everything on earth destroyed, their fate would follow when they run out of food, oxygen, and water.
Be thankful climate change will never even get that bad.

Sure. Until their food, water and air runs out.

As long as they didn't venture outside, they have the worst climate out there.
