What follows is about the sign NOT people with the Sun in that sign when they were born.
Aquarius. Someone, who should have known better, came up with the idea of "the zodiac "alphabet" " where the signs were pretty much the same as the planet that rules the sign and the house said to be associated with that sign. Aries is the first sign, Mars rules Aries. Therefore the First house is associated with Mars and Aries etc. So Aquarius is the 11th sign therefore it is assigned to the 11th house.
No amount of pretzel logic can place a fixed air sign ruled by Saturn and said to be the place where Saturn rejoices as being the same as the 11th house - the most fortunate house in the chart*. So they changed the meaning of Aquarius as well as the meaning of the 11th house in order to get it to fit. They didn't do a very good job. And to compound the felony someone somewhere decided that Uranus, not Saturn, ruled Aquarius. As if all this crap wasn't bad enough, the musical "Hair" portrayed Aquarius as something it never was, and that cemented the lunacy. Ptolemy, Paulus, Bonatti, Lilly, Morinus, et al would never recognize it.
Aquarius is a masculine, fixed air sign ruled by the greater malefic, Saturn. It has nothing to do with "revolution" change, humanitarianism, or peace on the planet. The nations it is said to rule are Russia (because of the USSR) and Red China. Humanitarianism isn't exactly the word that comes to mind when thinking of those two places. What a fixed air sign could possibly have to do with humanitarianism is beyond me. It is a human sign which is not the same thing.
The 11th house is not goals, ambitions, dreams or whatever other nonsense the moderns have dreamed up. It is primarily friendship - deep lasting friendship not the nice guy you met once at a bar. It is good fortune (or lack of it) - yours not the world's. In mundane astrology it is the resources of the King or leader of a nation. It also represents legislatures in mundane: advisers to the King.
In short no sign has been as misrepresented and therefore misunderstood and in fact overrated as the sign of Aquarius. It's coming "age" will not bring peace upon the planet or anything else the brain dead song says. FYI the Moon is in the 7th house once every day for about two hours.
*According to the Chaldean order of the planets, Jupiter is the 'natural" ruler of the 11th; an idea that makes so much more sense
