I would never give strangers a ride because I don’t have a car for one thing. I ride my bike to places

Just this one time: A sailor in uniform from Norfolk to Richmond, Virginia. I was also a sailor going in the same direction and beyond. Never again, in the past 40 years.

What was that phone service like asking for a taxi? Uber? Does that answer your queston.

That is something I would never do, never have in the past. with pretty much everyone carrying a cell phone it should be no problem for a person to call someone to pick them up.

I live in a community where I know most of the folk.
I generally give rides to mothers headed to the clinic with their children,
or to those who have missed the hourly bus to town and are stuck in the cold bus shelter.

Having some connection to me. Like being a student or employee where I work or attending my church. I rarely give rides to strangers, but when I have, it was always someone from work or church.
