Trump wants to forgive student loans for disabled veterans. Are conservatives mad at him about this for implementing Bernie's ideas?

conservatives would generally favor veterans over others since being conservative is about favoring certain segments of the population

mostly they favor, whites, christians, males, military nationalists, gun owners, small town people, traditionalists

and conservatives are generally more pro-military and pro-war so favoring veterans is something they would support

liberals on the other hand generally don't support war or excessive military stances yet they would support causes for helping people that are need regardless if its in their own self-interest or not

your average conservative would tell you that its great to help those military vets by giving them financial loan forgiveness because they actually protected our country and love america.

yet when it comes to the rest of the population, they would say that kids these days are spoiled and rotten so they should be smarter and learn to take care of themselves. they would say that its their problem that they chose to take student loans out in the first place so we shouldn't be giving them loan forgiveness

Source(s): conservatives would favor veterans since they are pro-military while liberals would favor veterans and all those that are in need of financial student loan forgiveness want proof?? go to any bernie rallies and bernie would say loan forgiveness should be given to everyone that have financial debt burdens. he didn't say anything about just military vets

Republicans are massive hypocrites over this. They're going to be praising Trump over something Bernie has been extremely vocal about. Except Bernie's idea of student loan forgiveness is better since it applies to EVERYONE and not just disabled vets.

Bernies idea is not restricted only to disabled veterans. Nothing wrong with Trumps idea.

There's definitely nothing wrong with either idea. Bernie's proposal takes it in a better direction, but Trump's is not bad. I'm just curious how conservatives will react to this, considering this is an idea that Bernie has railed on for so long now.

Sometimes Democrats accidentally come up with a good idea.

Very infrequent and very improbable, but it happens.

I wonder where the money is going to come from to pay for it. If it comes out of the military budget I am in favor, but if it is more deficit spending, no.

These people pretty much gave it all in service to the nation. It isn't many people and won't be a blip on the radar of military expenditures.

Furthermore, it's been discussed for decades. It's hardly Bernie Sanders' idea.

sanders didn't specify military vets because he supports loan forgiveness for all those that are in financial burden debt due to college loans.
why would he be that closed minded and biased to favor just vets when being a democratic socialist is being more open to larger segments of the population?

I’m okay with it. If they are permanently disabled, they aren’t going to be able to pay the loan off anyway.

...but I don’t hear anyone saying timeshare owners should be bailed out either. Making people take responsibility for their debt will teach them a more valuable lesson than what many of them learned in college.

He just signed an order for streamlining discharges of federal student loans for permanently disabled veterans who cannot maintain employment.
