1 Corinthians 2:09 - 16
11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him?
even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God
14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness
unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Paul explains here that the spirit of man cannot receive of the things of God. Cannot be
rehabbed or saved due to a need of the new spirit from God in order to understand and
receive of God.
In the following verses in John 3:03 Jesus gives insight into this.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a man be born
again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Jesus emphasizes the requirement of a new birth to enter into the Kingdom of God.
Jesus explains - this is due to whatever is of flesh is flesh and that which is of Spirit is spirit.
As Paul said, flesh does not understand or receive of the Spirit of God. Only when receiving
the Spirit from God is one able to understand and receive of the Spirit of God. Jesus says
this requires a new birth.
The apostle Paul further explains this in Romans 6:03 - 07
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the
likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, THAT OUR OLD MAN IS CRUCIFIED WITH HIM,
THAT THE BODY OF SIN MIGHT BE DESTROYED, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
It can be concluded from this body of evidence that the carnal man cannot be rehabbed or
saved but rather must be destroyed in order to receive newness of Life to serve righteousness.
It's similar to a condemned building that must be destroyed. After Adams transgression of
hiding his iniquity within, we also are under his condemnation, being ourselves born children
of wrath and therefore likewise condemned. Unsalvageable.
