Why aren't MLB players allowed to wear their hats backwards?

It would look very cool. No other sport allows players to wear backwards hats.

There are strict rules by which the players, coaches, umpires, etc abide. They are there for a reason- order, discipline, etc- The dress code provides professional guidelines. If anyone wants to wear their cap on backwards, they can do it in the club house or on their own time.

Catchers do, but as for the rest of the players, hats brims block some of the sunlight making the ball easier to see.

Because it's to abide by the MLB player rules and rulebook along with it.

Because it does not look professional

      How about Mike Clevinger's hair?

      How about jewelry?

      Silly facial hair?

So those things are professional but backwards hats are not
