    Due to your age, this is not a simple drop BP to a low level. Data suggests elderly stiff arteries do need a higher BP To perfuse the rain, so this is a complex issue you MUST discuss with your docs.

    Assuming you mean Metoprolol, it's not effectively treating your hypertension and there are many more effective choices. If you are also using Metoprolol to control angina, you maybe better off using two separate drugs -- a better drug for hypertension and another for angina. It is important to discuss this issue with your cardiologist.

    Since he has hypertension, the goal is to lower his BP to at least 130/80. I would make an appointment with the doctor and possibly add a diuretic such as a thiazide or an ACE inhibitor

    Normal blood pressure should be less than 120/80. go see a doctor. they may have other medication if that's making your blood pressure that high.
