Taylor or Elle?

And if you like "Elle," what longer name do you prefer it gets shortened from?

Elle definitely. I dislike the masculine name Taylor for a girl. It’s best as a last name in my opinion. My favorite name Elle could be a shortened form of is Brielle.

    I like Elle alone.

    Or for a nickname of

    Ellie

    Ella

    Eleanor

    Elizabeth

    Ellen

Elle, although Taylor is nice, too. Elle can be short for Isabelle, Mariel, Gabrielle, Annabelle, Elisa, Eliana, Elena, Elspeth, Danielle, Arielle, Elinor, Elizabeth or any name with the "el" sound in it.

Elle is my favorite. Much more feminine but in a modern way.

Longer more formal names for nn Elle:

    Eleanor, Ellen, Eleanora, Elizabeth, Elspeth...

    My favourite is probably Eleanora.

Elle by a long shot (although I'm not a big fan of simply "Elle"). Shortened from Eleanor, Elizabeth, Eliana, Annabelle, Isabelle, etc. Anything with "el" as a syllable works.

Taylor is much too unisex for me, not to mention there's about 4-5 Taylors in every class here. Half boys, half girls.

    Elle shortened from Elanor.

Elle alone. It doesn't need to be short for anything. It's a bit dull but miles better than the masculine Taylor.

Both are horribly overused names. Bleh.

Interesting, because in the 2018 SS name popularity records, Taylor is more than twice as common as Elle. Taylor ranks #121. Elle is 380.
