recharging RV AC can it be done?

itn does not cool at all and found a leak.

sealed up leak but now needs recharge.could i attach a fitting and charge it like a car AC unit.

    You could, but it probably won't have good results. You need to have a vacuum pulled for at least 30 minutes. If the vacuum holds, then add refrigerant according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

    you probably should pressure test and vac it out it out first.
