Why do young people now wait so long to work, buy a car, and move out on their own compared to past generations?

overpopulation, inflation, cost of everything. inflation and overpopulation play a HUGE role.

Overpopulation - population is growing rapidly every single day. more people come into this world versus passing away despite war and diseases.

this makes competition for jobs a lot harder and this drives the market up higher. simple demand and supply the more demand you have and less supply the more you can charge vice versa the less you can charge. every single state is different i live in Hawaii you will be lucky to even afford your own house here tbh homes are extremely pricey in Hawaii even if you live in a bad neighborhood compared to a cheaper state say Nevada where many people from here tend to move to or Arizona where i used to live.

cars are not cheap either but it makes it more difficult to buy a car when your cost of living say basic necessities are insane. rent, utilities, food, etc.. it just all leads back to over population. people need to stop having so many kids or we need another plague or something to come through and wipe out a large chunk of population otherwise in reality we will basically be the death of our own species as well as planet. we are already the cause of many extinctions of other animal species and already are killing our planet on a daily basis but as population grows it just will get worse and worse from here on out thus why people need to change their ways of living NOW but they take things for granted because "they won't be alive anyways"

In the US, neither overpopulation nor inflation are significant issues, except perhaps in some local situations.

I think they want to start out where their parents are now without working for it .
