Why does Disney think they can byy Sony Corporation as Sony Pictures isn't its own company Disney already in debt with Fox buyout?

https://www.boxofficemojo.com/studio/ Sony Pictures profits are up it does not have as many tentpole franchise as Disney but they are the third largest studio behind Warner Bros and Disney.

Update:

Sony market cap is close to 100 billion once cross over that it will be next to impossible for Disney to buy Sony Apple is probably the only company that can buy Sony.

Update 2:

Walt Disney Company is delusional if they think they can buy Sony the Trump administration will block it.

Companies buy subsidiaries all of the time, this is very common. They don't need to buy Sony...just buy Sony Pictures from Sony itself.

Keep something in mind. Sony Pictures is basically Columbia Pictures (founded in 1924), but simply rebranded. Before Sony bought them...they were owned by Coca-Cola.

The same argument can be used against the purchase of media giant "Reuters." The biggest winner from taking on debt to make purchases are banks.

Disney also owns a lot of shares of Netflix.

Apparently you don't get the concept of "leveraged buyout." Sony Pictures itself can be used as collateral against a loan to acquire Sony Pictures.

Maybe because Disney has made billions from the Marvel movies alone.
