Why"s Rachel's hair wet when she comes into Central Perk on the first episode of Friends?

And why'd she go there or even know to go there when she hadn't seen Monica in years, fell so much out of touch with her that she didn't even invite Monica to her wedding that day?

Update:

Don't guess. Of course if it had been raining, we'd know that because we've got a street view when she comes in. But it wasn't raining. I mean, I'm not retarded.

Friends isn't overly consistent, in that first season Monica and Rachel aren't lifelong friends, but are just two people who went to high school together.

When Ross enters the scene at about 1:15, he's carrying an umbrella, which implies it had been raining, even if it isn't raining now. On her arrival, talking about loving the gravy boat more than Barry, Rachel says she realizes Monica is the only person she knows who lives in the city, even if they've only exchanged a few cards (around 4:00). From this, we can assume the wedding was in NYC, since Rachel is on foot and carries no purse and presumably no money for a cab or subway.

Doesn't Rachel say, when she see's Monica, that she hoped she would see her there?

Or it could have just been chance that she ran into that café, for the sake of writing a show.

And it could have rained a few minutes prior to her running in but stopped before she enters the scene, that is completely plausible. Especially as it is a show, the story/setting isn't expected to be infallible.
