How do I stop worrying about this?
I was downtown in my small town yesterday running an errand and I parallel parked. I have a new car so I’m not used to the backup camera. When I left I reversed a little and got freaked because it looked like the dotted lines were on the car behind me. I put on my brakes and jerked myself.
My husband was with me and was like “what r u doing you’re not even close to that car” but I’ve convinced myself I hit it because of the jerking motion I felt.
I have a 2019 Honda CR-V and the lines were orange. I thought that meant close but someone said it means you’re crooked. There is no damage on my car but I’m worried there could be damage to the other car if I hit it! I wish I got out to check but in the moment I trusted my husband that I still had room and I left. I’m worried I was going fast since I jerked a bit, too.
My husband said he would have told me if I did but I’ve convinced myself he wouldn’t because he wouldn’t want me in trouble. He says that’s not true.
How do I get over this?! I was going to call the police but don’t want to be crazy. I texted someone I know that has a connection to the police department to ask.
I’m the type of person that will wait in a parking lot for another driver to come back if I tap another car with my door so this is really stressing me out!
I have my baby shower this weekend and I’m afraid I’ll ruin it because I can’t get over this! What do I do?

You stop worrying by realizing that your worries are not justified. Hitting someone doesn't feel like the 'jerking' you felt, it's feels like a collision. Are you normally this anxious?

maybe you should pray instead of worrying

Park somewhere in front of a wall. Back up to some point on the lines. Get out and look how close you are. Repeat as needed as you get closer and closer.until you are comfortable with how close you are for the various lines in the camera.
If you hit something, you should feel it.
