If I am at a 2.88 GPA (STEM) with total of 102 total credits so far, what GPA do I need to raise my cumulative GPA to a 3.00 in ONE semester, taking 18 credits?

The M in STEM stands for math. This is a simple algebra problem. The answers are right - the bigger question is, can you pull off a 3.68 if you can't do simple algebra?

Assuming that by "cumulative GPA," you're referring to your STEM GPA, and assuming that all 18 credits are STEM, then...

    102 + 18 = 120

    120 * 3.0 = 360

    2.88 * 102 = 293.76

    360 - 293.76 = 66.24

    66.24 / 18 = 3.68

So, you need to average a 3.68 GPA on those 18 credits to bring your GPA up to a 3.0.

    2.88(102) = 293.76

    3.00(120) = 360

    360 - 293.76 = 66.24

    66.24/18 = 3.68

    You’ll need a 3.68.
