Why is Snow White presumed to be a Disney creation she was created by the Grim brothers?

Because Disney has done a very good job at brain washing people. Just look they are selling tickets to remakes of movies that are barely 20 years old, And most of those movies are remakes of foreign films.

Disney profited off of her story.

Disney took a lot of fairy tales and redid them. Snow white isnt the only one that's now living life as a disney princess.

Because the Grimm brothers didn't make it into a feature film, that's why. And they didn't pay to copyright the story.

You're not going to like this, but that's how it works in the legal business world. Nobody gives a damn who came up with the idea, nobody cares who wrote the story, and nobody cares who put in all the blood sweat and tears. The legal owner of the story (or idea, whatever) is whoever filled out the paperwork and paid the fees to own the rights to it. The line had to be drawn somewhere, and that's where it was drawn.

Welcome to the world of reality. Nobody said it was pretty.

You're making exactly the same mistake you're trying to denounce.

The Grimm brothers collected a lot of (much older) folk stories, and their version is often the most well known. But they didn't create them.

It's exactly the same for Disney. They made a version of those stories for cinema, and their version is the most well known now.

Ever since I was a little boy, I knew that Disney's Snow White was an adaptation of an old story.

PS: It's spelled GRIMM (with two M's)

That is what Disneycorp does, they appropriate intellectual property.

Historically, their own creations include a few cartoon characters that are not actually very amusing, like Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck.

Let's hope that no-one in the future mistakes Han Solo for a Disney creation.
