• Oh come on - the diameter of a circle is twice the radius of the circle.

Divide 34 by 2.

Source(s): Radius is half the diameter, therefore 17 "inches". Multiply by 2.54 to get the radius in centimetres. The metric system is used worldwide, even in the U.K.

• The radius is the distance from the center of a circle to the edge.

The diameter is the distance across the circle (through the center).

So obviously the radius is *half* the diameter.
