What's your opinion about C J Cherryh?

I wouldn't read anything by her, but I might try to see if I'm missing out.

    She's had some really good books, and some that missed the mark. I did really like her Downbelow Station and Merchanters Luck a lot. And the Pride of Chanur (not the whole series, it got watered down by the third book). Those were my favorite three out of the entire batch she's written.

    I enjoy her books. Think she's an excellent author of one brand of SF

    Hugo award-winning novels are typically quite excellent

    and she has a couple of those under her belt

    so

    I would consider those worth reading (even though I have not yet read them).

    IMO the best bets for "new reads" are those that have won both the Hugo and Nebula

    although there are a few...less good ones here, they are mostly excellent.
