My colony count was 40,000 CFU/ml. What does this mean?

    Uner 10,000 CFU/ml is fine.

Over 100,000 CFU/ml indicates an infection.

40,000 CFU/ml is not a clear result. Your doctor needs to decide if an infection is indicated based on this result + symptoms + other examinations/tests.
