How many calories do you burn during swimming?
I started learning to swim 3 months ago. Currently, I am mostly doing breastroke, and pushing myself, am swimming approx. 950 metres in 60 minutes. I realise this is quite a slow pace, but is it normal to be this slow, having started recently? I have also used several swimming calorie counters online, and I get a range of 200 to 500 calories burned whilst swimming. I am 63 kg and 5"2, roughly how many calories could I be burning in an hour?

It depends on the stroke, how much effort you are putting in, and what your body size is. But you don't have to count the calories to know that it is a good form of exercise and good for your health. It doesn't matter if you are going slowly (unless you are training for the Olympics), just doing it is enough.
