correlation is the usual choice, but link is often used. As in "Professor Sir Richard Doll was the first to definitively establish the link between cigarette smoking and lung cancer."

link, association, connection, relationship, correlation. Depends on what you want to discuss. An association or correlation is not necessarily a causative relationship. Link or connection carries the idea of how the one thing is tied to the other in some way.
