My daughter is 11, but when she was younger, I downloaded and had her watch all the original Powerpuff TV series as I heard bad things about the remake. I watched all the episodes with her.
Back in the day, I did watch shows and movies with female protagonists. Terminator, Aliens, Kill Bill, Resident Evil, & Alita: Battle Angel comes to mind. But, lately, Hollywood has pushed female protagonists into movies beyond my limit. Almost like affirmative action plays a part in it.
If Hollywood wants to be politically correct and introduce strong female unfathomable characters just to appease the feminist/SJW movement... I can vote against it with my wallet (dollar-voting). This feminist PC culture has destroyed Hollywood beyond repair. This female empowerment is NOT a recent phenomenon but it is occurring more frequently than ever.
I refuse to watch or support the Hollywood's insistence of a overpowered unrealistic female protagonists (aka Mary Sue) such as: Terminator 3 (2003) & all the recent ones, Million Dollar Baby (2004), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009), Salt (2010), the Hunger Games trilogy, the Divergent trilogy, Lucy (2014), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Sicario (2015), Joy (2015), Jurassic World (2015), The Force Awakens (2015), Ghostbusters (2016), Jane Got a Gun (2016), The 5th Wave (2016), Rogue One (2016), Arrival (2016), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), Atomic Blonde (2017), Mother (2017), Ocean's Eight (2018), Red Sparrow (2018), Captain Marvel (2019), Avengers: Endgame (2019), Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) and perhaps any movie featuring Jennifer Lawrence, Emily Blunt or Emma Watson.
