Since rabbits, unlike cats and dogs, are considered livestock, Is it legal if I slaughter my pet rabbit, cook it, and eat it?

I purchased a pet rabbit from a pet store. I know that pet rabbits, unlike cats and dogs, can also be a livestock animal for people to eat just like chicken, sheep, pigs, and beef. What if I converted a livestock pet into an edible delicious meal?

Growing up we kept rabbits, not really pets and basically for food stock.

When they get past their breeding age, they often wound up on the table.

The chickens, mainly for eggs, but like the rabbits, if all they did was eat, the eventually became food.

Pet rabbits I think are a bit different category, rather pricy if farmed for food.

Pet rabbits are considered domesticated animals and not considered livestock. Sheep, goats, pigs, or cows, those are livestock. Some keep them for pets also.
