Can I breed my bettas with other community fish in the tank? Or will the fish eat their eggs?

betta can only breed with other betta and the other inhabitants of the tank will eat their eggs thats why mating pairs of fish are seperated from all the other fish. fish eggs are an excellent source of protein and other nutrition.

Bettas should be bred in a specific breeding tank. The female must be removed after the eggs are laid for the male to take care of.

He will become very aggressive and defend the nest and attack other fish that come too close. Eggs that fall out of the nest will be eaten before he can rescue them especially if you have typical community fish like tetras and danios.

Betas don't breed, only alphas do.
