does my antenna need to be higher than the neighbor's house?

    neighbors house is due north and TAMPA is North of me. I got what I needed. THANKS EVERYONE.

    depends on where the antenna is, if its the on the opposite side of the neighbours huse and that house blocks the signal then tes.

    If however the antenna is in a different direction then maybe not depending on local geography.

    In general you want it as high as needed.

    For maximum effectiveness your antenna needs to stand higher then the rest of the surrounding buildings and trees.

    If the neighbours house blocks the line of sight to the broadcast station, yes.
