are tennis balls closer to yellow or green?

    According to ITF rules regulation balls are yellow....or "optic yellow" to be specific.

    I don't recall the exact science behind it, but the additives that give pigments a luminescent or "neon" effect tend to "glow" on the pale blue or green portions of the spectrum naturally. This would give any yellow base a greenish hue.

    Yellow, as they are meant to be today. This is an ongoing argument, yellow or green. I don't see them as green!! Look at them when used on a grass court!!

    I would say they're closer to green, but they're quite bright. They're almost in the middle. They're kind of the colour of some high-vis jackets that people wear.
