If you backed them up prior, yes.

Aside from water damage most iPhone's can be repaired if you find the right place to do it, but otherwise it's either backed up to your iCloud or it's gone forever. There's no way of accessing it's memory outside of repairing the phone. Even if you have already moved onto a new phone it's always worth repairing it to recover your data and then to sell the phone to recover your costs.

If the phone still responds to touch, plug it into your PC and transfer them via iTunes. You will need to allow permission on the phone (touch screen must be functional) in order for the PC to be able to read the iPhone.

If your phone doesn't respond to touch or is completely dead, then you're out of luck. That's why backups are critical!

Athena, the SIM card only identifies your account to the cellular network and doesn't have any transferable data from the iPhone. Just eject it with the end of a bent paper clip, dry it thoroughly and try it out. You can always ask your wireless carrier for a replacement.
