Do I need to stay awake longer?

I don't know what is wrong with me. I can avoid scratching when I feel itchy when I'm awake, but when I wake up I start scratching. It is a weird habit that I need to get rid of but I don't know how to do that. I sleep on my front side. I don't know what it is about waking up that makes me start scratching. The hardest thing is trying to stay awake so that I can avoid scratching. I feel like this bad habit will never go away because I can't resist going to bed when I feel sleepy. Even after washing my hair I still have this same problem when I wake up so therefore it doesn't make any difference if I wash my hair or not. I will still scratch when I wake up.

    What on earth are you scratching? You mentioned washing your hair - so is it only your head?

    See a doctor, ask why you're always itching. Perhaps you have an allergy that can be treated and will stop the itching. (You could try a dosage of Benadryl - if it stops the itching it's most likely an allergy).
