they don't have an argument so they resort to name calling, it is very childish.

You're talking about theists now. They have no valid argument, so they resort to vicious insult to unbelievers, stupid lies, logical fallacies and miserably poor fiction in the Bible.

It is technically criticism but it’s not very constructive

Why do little girls yell at Daddy and kick his seat while being driven to the mall in his car?

Atheistic science was born inside the original Christian 'university' system. Despite 'betraying' the Christian system during a scripturally predicted event and going on to be the 'son of destruction,' (the event known as the 'apostasy' 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4), it still uses Biblical Greek koine for its base 'scientific' terms. Take away everything they inherited from Christian prodigy, (including their ongoing funding), and their 'critical thinking' suddenly turns into a hissy fit and pantie wetting.

"...attaining to all the wealth that comes from the full assurance of understanding, resulting in a true knowledge of God’s mystery, that is, Christ Himself, 3in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4I say this so that no one will delude you with persuasive argument." (Colossians 2:2-4).

    It's NOT criticism. It's truth.

Truth is only regarded as criticism by those who wish to reject truth. Hence one would naturally expect Christers to claim the appellation of indoctrinated idiots is a criticism when it's applied to them just as one would naturally expect Christers to project their own penchant for abuse persecution and criticism onto those merely stating the truth.

The existence of God would be true whether you had evidence to prove it, or not. Unfortunately, you cannot expect other people to live their lives as if it were true until you have valid, verifiable evidence for God.

Same goes for the existence of Bigfoot and/or leprechauns.

It qualifies as truth. If Christian want to consider truth to be criticism, that's their problem.

Derision is always the sign of a poor argument.

I would be concerned if they WEREN'T doing what they are doing...

Jesus said (I'm paraphrasing) "Rejoice when the world hates you, because you belong to Me."

Psalm 37 is gentle instruction about how to keep your peace when the noisy squawkers are trying to belittle you.

    Read it and obey it.

Jesus never existed, so he didn't say a word.
