If you have inspiration to become a scientist later in life being inspired by a book, would you pursue?

Depends on how strong the inspiration was. The next book you read, about the Apollo moon landings, might inspire you to be an astronaut. I've read many books about the Titanic and I went ga-ga when she was found. I've went to all the exhibitions that came to Toronto; but I have not been inspired to join an expedition to see her for myself. Oceanography... nope. Treasure hunting ... nope.
