What is the independent and dependent group along with the control and experimental group and constant and a reasonable hypothesis?

The independent variable is the brand of nail polish. The dependent variable is the time until the first chip, because that DEPENDS on the brand, and that's what she's measuring. I guess you could say that the control group is the polish she's been using all along, since she's already familiar with that one, and could be said to be looking for a polish that lasts longer. But that's a bit of a stretch about what "control group" means. A reasonable hypothesis is that nail polish from different manufacturers will remain chip free for different amounts of time.
