Why are the public interested in the Zeta Reticuli star system and the Roswell incident how are they connected?

Betty and Barney Hill, are supposed UFO Abductees in New Hampshire 1961, first drew the map. Later, a woman astronomer, who was making 3D models if the arrangement of stars in the universe claimed to notice that the stars on Betty's map match the Zeta Reticuli system. UFO enthusiasts believe those aliens were ones that caused the Roswell UFO crash incident.

Some people have connected the Zeta Reticuli system to Little Grey Aliens for some reason
Even though there is little or no chance of life evolving there because it is so complicatedSource(s): And my Sheep are still going missing

1. Betty Hill, who claimed to have been abducted by aliens, drew a map of a star field and circled the faint star Zeta Reticuli on the plan. "This is where they come from." This was in 1961, many years after the Roswell incident. [The map was most probably drawn by Marjorie Fish, supposedly based on info given to her by Betty]
2. The Roswell incident (1947) involved the crash of some object (some secret vehicle or secret weapon being tested?) that the armed forces did not want to divulge. When a journalist suggested that it was a UFO piloted by aliens, they likely went "What? Oh Yeah. Right. That's what it was. Yeah, Go with that. Yes, yes. It was one of them things there, what do you call them... flying saucer. Yeah, we got a flying saucer."
The Armed Forces had tried also to claim it was a weather balloon, but that did not work when they originally refused to show the "weather balloon" to anyone.
That is about the extent of the original connection.
Since then, various UFO-believers have reinforced the connection with a lot of "what if" stories, including the idea that the remains of an alien (a Grey) was kept in Area 54.
The "Greys" (the aliens that are supposed to come from Zeta Reticuli and were piloting the UFO) could come from aliens created by H.G.Wells for a science-fiction story at the turn of the century (late 1800s or early 1900s = the Selenites).
The star itself has been studied. It is not that far from us (39 to 40 light-years). It is a double-star system and it has no known planets.
