My vagina always has a fishy smell why?

I don't know if it's an infection or what. Everytime I spread my legs it stinks the entire room and I am embarrassed alot. I walk and I still smell it on me even at work.

BV. You need Flagyl to clear it up. So does your partner. As long as BV is inside your vagina, it does not smell. But when it comes out and mixes with the air, a chemical reaction occurs that smells like fish.

Have you tried taking a probiotic? (Acidophilus)

There's a natural balance of good and bad bacteria in the vagina. The good is supposed to keep the bad in check. There's also a natural pH level that is healthy for the vagina to maintain.

Different things can through the delicate balance of flora and pH level out of whack. Sometimes its diet. (Eating too much suger/soda pop) Could be that you're dehydrated. Obviously an infection can cause it.

I would say if it's not a problem for you, go ahead and check with a doctor to make sure you don't have anything weird going on that you shouldn't. If you get a clean bill of health then try adding a probiotic to your routine. Probiotics contain some of that good bacteria I mentioned. It helps aid in digestion and vaginal health. They're available in most stores that carry vitamins and herbal supplements. Of course you can buy online too.

You may consider some lifestyle changes. A healthier diet, exercise, and underwear made from a more breathable fabric can all help improve your overall health both inside and out, including your vagina.
