If Japan had won ww2 would there still be Anime?

  • Yes, anime had already existed in Japan for roughly 30 years prior to entering the Second World War. However there might be a case to be made about Japan's level of innovation in the anime industry had they won the War. Artists and creators might have made alternative animations then the ones that are out today or possibly non at all. Culture influences society, so had Japan won the War the types of animes might have been drastically different by comparison.

    Yep. And certainly there'd be anime depicting Japan's victory over the allies in almost every anime there'd probably be. But nowadays anime usually references the axis/nazis and plot references from WW2 and the playing the victim in subtle storylines among anime.

    Anime existed long before WWII. Why would it have ended if they had won?
