Is it reasonable to commit suicide after all your family and pets are gone?

    No. Suicide is never reasonable.

My mother lost most of her eyesight right before she retired. She couldn't do the two things she loved. read and paint. She was on a fixed income and spent 3 days a week going to food banks to get extra food to make her ends meet. She couldn't drive so she had to depend on volunteers or the bus. She lived alone (my father died in 1958) with a cat.

Even through all this, one day someone asked her how she does it. Her response: "I cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings." Her positive outlook has always kept me pointed forward.

Tomorrow is another day, with new things to learn, see, do and experience. That' is why we are here. To live.

Of course not. One should know that pets tend to die before their human owners before acquiring one.

It's sad to lose a loved one, but commiting suicide will not change anything.

There are plenty of lonely and sad animals one can adopt to make their short existence happy.
