On a semi truck tractor/trailer are Clearance, Running, tail, and Marker lights basically the same thing?

Are they all just lights that indicate the truck is on, but are all just in different areas and can be either Amber or Red?

Clearance lights are on the top. Tail lights are on the rear. "Running lights" and "Marker lights" are basically the same thing.

Tail lights are tail lights. Marker lights are marker lights. The same thing as on your car. Red lights in the rear, amber lights elsewhere
