Are Eco-terrorists right?

That all of the worlds problems are caused by us and our over-population. And that the only way to save our planet is to cull a vast number of people?

That crap has been going on for decades. I just looked at a 1970 "Playboy" magazine, and it had letters about an article about Paul Ehrlich the eco-terrorist of the day. He made dire predictions that failed badly, just as all of them fail, now or 1970. He said humans would soon become extinct, but we are still here. More recently, Al Gore made dire predictions that failed. The doomsayers for centuries have been Christians saying the End of Time is imminent. Now, we have Eco-frauds who try to outdo the Christian frauds. Once, there was an impending Ice Age. Recently that did a polar shift with Global Warming, then Global Climate Variation and now Climate Change. I am suspicious of anything that changes its name so often.

To that extent, they are. Can you think of any environmental problem that would not be alleviated by having fewer people? Granted, there is a lower limit, to make our infrastructure efficient, as well.

    they don't exist.

Is humanity as a whole consuming too much? Definitely

Would killing a billion people help? If it is the richest billion, yes, but if it's the poorest billion no.

However, the best way to reduce the birthrate is giving all GIRLS enough education to see career-options outside motherhood

No, it is caused by humans, but not by overpopulation. It's caused by buildings, cars, etc. If we kill humans, but the survivors move into their homes and keep running the air conditioners, lights, heat, computers, etc., then it won't improve the situation. It might even make it worse because (1) buses and trains would be less cost effective, so there would be more use of single-occupant cars, and (2) decomposing bodies give off greenhouse gases.

I think it would be better if we cull more animals to make room to park our SUVs.

Teddy Roosevelt said 120 years ago. The cure for the world's overpopulation is a good war every 20 years.
