Used just means it was previously owned, and thus "used." A used copy of a movie should theoretically work just as a good as a new one, but it's a bit riskier, as there's a chance the disc and/or case could have some wear-and-tear.

When you buy new, you're getting a brand-new, never-opened copy. So you're guaranteed to get the optimal use out of the disc and case.

Used one is more likely to be scratched. If so the chances are that it won't work properly.

Used ones are usually damaged or scratched or pirated fakes.

As new ones aren't expensive, it's safer to get those.

    New works. Used may not.
