Would salt and pepper be considered condiments?

I'm talking about the salt and pepper you get in shakers.

    Condiments ( OXFORD dictionary ) a substance such as salt or ketchup that is used to add flavor to food

    pepper ALSO come under the definition of SPICES

    SPICES an aromatic or pungent vegetable substance used to flavor food example cloves pepper nutmeg

    SALT a white crystalline substance which gives seawater its characteristic taste and used for SEASONING and PRESERVING food

    salt & peeper also come under the definition of SEASONING

    SEASONING ( OXFORD dictionary ) salt, herbs or spices added to foods to enhance the flavor

    WOW words can have multiple USES

    CONSIDERED ( Oxford dictionary ) adjective having been thought about carefully or decide upon with care

    sounds SUBJECTIVE

    No. They are seasonings/spices. Catsup and mustard are condiments. Sugar is also a seasoning/spice, not a condiment.

    I would consider them more of a seasoning than a condiment.

    S & pepper are seasoning, not condiments like mustard, mayo & catsup
