whats the difference between the atlantic ocean and the pacific ocean in the colour of the waters?

isnt the atlantic ocean actually more blue in colour and the pacific has a more green ish blue colour? correct me if im wrong.

    You're wrong.

    As retired Navy, I've sailed them both and they both look the same. There are some variances with each ocean, from dark gray to deep blue, but even those are similar between the two oceans. Both get most of their color from the reflection of the sky color above.

    The colours you see depend on your latitude and time of year. In terms of colour the difference between the oceans is negligible. Compare photos taken of the N Atlantic, the Bering Strait, the southern portion of the Drake Passage they appear to be the same shade of grey.
