What mistakes did the north make in the civil war?
Failing to prosecute and execute Jefferson Davis for high treason, waging an aggressive war and for slavery.
Failing to prosecute and execute Nathan Bedford Forest for murder, high treason and for slavery.
Failing to prosecute and execute Confederate generals and colonels and other officers for high treason.
Failing to re-educate the defeated southerners, for what possible good that it could or would have done back then...
Because even the north or the most liberal of us...
Lacked both the knowledge and the attitude that exists today...
Allowing northern landowners to pick up southern land and charge rent to the poor southerners.
Allowing the KKK to continue the civil war by means of terrorist activity.
Failing to find a way to enforce northern law in the conquered South.
